Lung Cancer Checks Coming to Warrington

If you or someone you know is aged 55 to 74 and a smoker or ex-smoker registered with a GP in Warrington, there is a free Lung Health Check to see how your lungs are and to rule out cancer.

In its first stages, lung cancer often has no symptoms and this check can spot cancer early when it’s easier to treat and may be cured.

People who are eligible will get an appointment by text or in a letter through the post and after a chat with one of the team, may be offered a lung scan.

The scans are rolling out across Warrington from the end of August until November 2025.

Please encourage people attending your groups and activities to keep an eye out for their Lung Health Check appointment and not to ignore it, because it could save their life.

Leaflets, posters and easy read booklets are also available for voluntary and community groups.  Please contact helenp@warringtonva.org.uk for copies or to access the above information in other formats.
